POSITION SUMMARY:

Repairs, services, and maintains medical equipment and instructs medical, nursing and engineering staff in its safe operation and use.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

(1) Associate degree or equivalent, (2) Twp years experience as bio-medical tech responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating equipment, (3) Extensive background in computers, both operating and servicing of computerized systems.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

(1) Current California Drivers License. Must be able to present a recent DMV print out as proof of good driving record and must report any driving infractions to supervisor, (2) AAMI certificate.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.  Must be fluent in spoken and written English.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Requires prolonged standing/walking.  Push/pull or move/lift activity involving heavy equipment or supplies.  Manual dexterity and mobility, considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, lifting, and climbing.  Must be able to distinguish and identify different colors.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

May be exposed to biological, chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards.
