POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for mammography procedures provided to patients at the Breast Care Center.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

(1) A.S. degree from an accredited X-ray school, (2) Three-five years previous experience with one-two years experience in mammography.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

(1) CRT and A.R.R.T license with additional Mammography certification.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.  Must be fluent in spoken and written English.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent prolonged standing/walking.  Manual dexterity and mobility to operate necessary equipment. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Possible exposure to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards.  Required to wear radiation film badge.    

PATIENTS SERVED:

Knowledge and understanding of the physical and psychosocial needs of the adult and geriatric woman.
