Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists in keeping of all records. Processes all patient revenue charges. Acts as a receptionist for the central supply department. Performs routine clerical duties.

     

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

(1)   High school graduate or equivalent, (2) Minimum two years experience in data entry.

Desired:

(1) Previous Hospital experience.

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be computer literate and type 40 wpm.  Must have strong oral and written communication skills.  Requires ability to organize and maintain records.  Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.  Must be fluent in spoken and written English.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

 

PHYSICAL JOB CLASSIFICATION:

Light Work

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:   

Requires some light lifting and carrying – 25 pounds or less.  Requires employee to sit at computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Involves repetitive motion of fingers and hands. Position requires occasional prolonged standing/walking, occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 

Majority of work is performed indoors with protection from the elements but not necessarily from temperature extremes.  May be exposed to infections or contagious diseases. Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements. May be exposed to ETO hazards.
