POSITION SUMMARY:
This position plans, coordinates and administers comprehensive occupational health program including pre-placement screening of new hires, monitoring of employee health, illness and injury prevention, and health and wellness education to protect patients and employees, ensures facility-wide immunizations/inoculation to prevent spread of communicable disease. Facilitates compliance with workers’ compensation laws and Americans with Disabilities Acts.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
(1) Associate Degree, (2) Four years acute nursing experience, (3) Training and demonstrated competency in physical assessment.
Desired:
(1) B.S.N.
(2) Nurse practitioner desired
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
(1) Current California RN license.
(2) BLS
Desired:
(1) Certification in Occupational Health.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of principles/practices occupational health/safety, of State Workers Compensation laws, and of OSHA regulations. Numerical ability to prepare statistical reports. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Exposed to biological and chemical hazards, noise, dust, fumes, and vibrations. Majority of work is performed indoors, protected from the elements but not necessarily temperature extremes.
