POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical agents in the Hospital setting. Serves as a clinical and educational resource for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and our patients. Monitors Hospital medication use processes for performance improvement. Documents and reports outcome of interventions. May be required to supervise student interns.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
(1) Pharm.D or B.S. in Pharmacy, (2) Completion of internship in a hospital pharmacy and/or one year previous hospital Pharmacist experience, (3) Must meet annual minimum criteria as outlined in Qualifications Appendix.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
(1) California State registration as a Pharmacist
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:
This position utilizes both fine and large motor skills for operation of related business equipment such as computers &, fax machines and for the occasional lifting of medication related supply items weighing from 1 - 20 lbs., etc. The employee may be required to stand for long periods. Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The majority of work is performed indoors with protection from weather conditions.
PATIENTS SERVED:
This position is responsible for following age groups of patients: Neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Includes, but not limited to: Medication dosages.
