POSITION SUMMARY:

Fulfils support role within the dietary department. May be involved in food preparation and tray set up, dishwashing, catering activities, cafeteria service, supply handling, and/or cleaning of equipment and food preparation areas.

     

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

(1) High School diploma or equivalent, (2) Minimum one year previous food service experience in a healthcare setting.

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be able understand recipes and production sheets.  Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.  Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.  Must be fluent in spoken and written English.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

 

PHYSICAL JOB CLASSIFICATION:

Medium to Heavy Work depending on specific tasks being performed.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Must stand and walk without assistance for long periods during the day. Uses all muscle groups for lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and grasping.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Majority of work is performed indoors protected from the elements.  Exposed to heat and cold temperature extremes, noise and vibrations.
