POSITION SUMMARY:

Plans and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy in collaboration with a multi disciplinary treatment team.

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

(1) Bachelors Degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.

 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

(1) Current California Occupational Therapist license  (2) American Occupational Therapy Board certification as a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR), (2) BLS-C.

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.  Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.  Must be fluent in spoken and written English.  Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Very Heavy Work

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged standing/walking. Uses all muscle groups for continuous lifting, pushing, pulling and transfer of patients. Requires manual dexterity and mobility.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Performs the majority of work indoors protected from the elements.  May be exposed to: Dust, Fumes (Human Waste). Bodily Fluids, Heat, Cold, Noise, and Vibrations.

PATIENTS SERVED:

This position is responsible for age-related physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the following age groups of patients: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.  Includes, but not limited to:  physical growth and development differences.
