IMRT, or Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy is a very sophisticated way of administering radiation therapy, allowing for a more accurate to target the tumor while giving less radiation to the unaffected areas.  This translates to the patient by resulting in a greater chance of cure with fewer side effects.
