Nutrition Education (Outpatient)

The comprehensive out-patient Nutrition Education program at Doctors Medical Center works with patients, their families, and their physicians to develop realistic nutritional plans and achieve healthier lifestyles.  Our team of Registered Dietitians have the skills and experience to tailor the program to a wide range of health needs.

The program works by teaching patients how to make changes to their diet consistent with a healthy lifestyle - a self-monitoring skill that is integral to long-term success.  Patients are given practical advice on everything from understanding the nutritional labels on packaging, to simple menu planing and healthy recipes for a busy life.  As part of the program, Registered Dieticians will also monitor your body fat, metabolic rate (the number of calories you burn in a day), and create a personalized nutrition plan.  Participation in program requires a physician referral.

Find more information about our outpatient Nutrition Education program on our Frequently Asked Questions page.  If you have further questions, or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact the Nutrition Education program director, Tracy Taylor, by calling 510-970-5344 or emailing ttaylor@dmc-sp.org.
