The Sleep Disorders Clinic at the Doctors Medical Center is a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-related problems and is accredited by the AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine). It provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of the more than 80 disorders of sleep. The Clinic conducts overnight and daytime sleep studies to help diagnose this wide range of disorders, which can include:
- Snoring
- Narcolepsy
- Insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep)
- Sleep Apnea (breathing problems during sleep)
- PLM (Periodic Limb Movement)
- Parvo Nocturnus (night terrors)
- Somnambulism (sleepwalking)
- Somnilquey (sleep talking).
The treatment team is comprised of physicians with expertise in the area of sleep disorders medicine, pulmonology, neurology and dentistry. A sleep specialist will consult with each patient to determine the nature of their sleep disorder, and to determine whether further testing, such as a sleep study, is indicated.
