Community Outreach
We believe that being part of the community means reaching out beyond the hospital to provide needed services. At Doctors Medical Center we participate in many health-related events including health fairs, conduct seasonal flu and H1N1 flu clinics, provide free prostate and skin cancer screenings, and facilitate a number of support groups including ones for cancer and diabetes patients. We recently opened a new cancer center community library and have continued our breast cancer early detection program for uninsured and underinsured women. Helping the community stay healthy is part of being a good neighbor.

The J.C. Robinson , M.D. Regional Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer treatment and the latest technology for patients and their families – in one location. It is a place of hope, where quality treatment is provided in a modern and highly supportive environment.
From screening and diagnosis to advanced treatments and support groups, our dedicated cancer center team of professionals treats each patient with kindness and compassion. Our physician specialists have the experience and expertise to provide timely and accurate diagnoses, aggressive treatment options and have access to clinical trials and advanced research. Our treatment team members are drawn from many disciplines: physicians specializing in cancer care, nationally-certified nurses and therapists, technicians, nutrition consultants, physical and speech therapists, social workers and researchers.

Cardiac Services
From life-saving treatments to keeping your heart healthy, our cardiac services program offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic care. In caring for your heart, our commitment to providing compassionate, personal care is as important as our commitment to technology.
The program is supported by a full-service Emergency Department, an onsite cardiac catheterization lab, and by a skilled team of cardiologists, electrophysiologists and expert cardiac surgeons. Our experienced nurses and a support staff with specialized training in cardiac care provide the skilled care and dedication that helps speed our patients’ treatment and recovery.
Cardiac Services include:
• Emergency Care for heart attacks and chest pain. We are a designated STEMI Receiving Center which helps ensure that patients receive specialized care as soon as possible.
• Interventional cardiology – angioplasty, intracoronary stenting and rotational atherectomy
• Electrophysiology (for heart rhythm disorders) atrial fibrillation ablation, defibrillator placement and pacemaker implantation
• Cardiac surgery is not performed on-site, but is available to our patients

Emergency Services
Cardiac emergencies, unexpected illnesses or life-
threatening injuries can occur anytime, day or night. You can rest assured knowing that the Doctors Medical Center Emergency Department is here for you and staffed 24 hours a day by physicians who are board-certified in Emergency Medicine, and registered nurses experienced in emergency care and certified in advanced life support. Medical and surgical specialists are also available on-call around the clock. Hospital resources, including include a cardiac catheterization lab, clinical laboratory, CT, diagnostic x-ray and imaging, EKG and drug intervention therapies all aid in providing the most immediate treatment and care to you. A helipad located on our hospital campus is available to receive patients who are transported by air. Because serious medical emergencies require immediate attention, it’s good to know that our Emergency Department is here for the community.

Outpatient Physical Rehabilitation Services
Doctors Medical Center’s physical rehabilitation services helps patients in their physical recovery. For those living with a disability, rehabilitation improves mobility, physical health and emotional well-being. Services are provided in the hospital and at the DMC Outpatient Center in San Pablo.
Our skilled and experienced physical, occupational and speech therapists utilize a variety of techniques to help patients achieve the highest level of independence as possible. These professionals design individual programs to meet the needs of patients with neurologic, orthopedic and balance difficulties, burns, hand injuries and amputations. Additionally,
our rehabilitation services offer fabrication of custom-fit hand splints, adaptive device training to increase independence in activities of daily living and manual lymphatic drainage for lymphedema.

Wellness Programs — Keeping You Healthy
You have the power to maintain or improve your health, and our Wellness programs are designed to help you take an active role in doing just that. Classes and programs include Healthy Cooking Demonstrations, Diabetes Support Group, Easy Fitness Exercise, Nutrition Counseling and more. Sleep Disorders Center
The Sleep Disorders Center at Doctors Medical Center is a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of more than 80 sleep-related disorders. The clinic conducts overnight and daytime sleep studies to
help diagnose disorders including snoring, narcolepsy,
insomnia (difficulty falling or staying asleep), periodic limb movement (PLM), night terrors, sleep walking and sleep talking. The center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and is a member of the National Sleep Foundation.
